What a touch-up does
A touch up is a targeted refresh of an existing braided style that focuses only on the areas showing new growth, loose roots, or visible wear. The service is offered at half of the original price and is ONLY for my clients. A touch up preserves the rest of the install and avoids a full re-braid when maintenance is sufficient.
Depending on the hairstyle, the work concentrates on tightening parts, reworking perimeter rows, and refreshing neatness where needed. How long it takes depends on hair density and how much of the style needs attention; denser hair or larger sections needing rework will increase the time for a complete, neat finish.
Who can book a touch-up
Touch ups are reserved for returning Josie clients — they are not offered to new clients. If you already have a braid appointment on record, book through your usual channel and reference the original service. Josie’s downtown West Orange location serves clients from Montclair, Livingston, Verona, South Orange, East Orange and Orange with flexible early‑morning and late‑evening slots for commuters.
Demand rises in January and again in July and August, so plan ahead if you need a refresh during those months. Winter storms and commuter schedules can affect travel, so allow extra time for appointments during snowy weather or heavy transit disruptions linked to the I‑280 corridor.
Price, time, and expectations
This touch up service is listed as Starting at $90 and Duration: 150 minutes. Final cost and exact time depend on the original hairstyle and your hair’s density; the policy is to charge half of the original service price for qualifying touch ups. The listed price and duration reflect a typical maintenance session at the salon.
